Mary Sallee has a variety of experience accompanying soloists, ensembles and choirs. Because of her capacity to play by ear, she is comfortable playing in a variety of styles and settings whether academic, church or community-based.
At the university level, she accompanied both early music ensembles (on harpsichord) and groups performing 20th century music. For several semesters, she played in the jazz ensemble in addition to accompanying a variety of choirs and instrumental chamber ensembles.
Because of her study and degree in voice, she both sang and played piano in several opera and musical productions at OU and summer stock productions in the community. For this reason, she is quite comforatable accompanying cattle-call auditions, dance classes and musical and opera productions. For several years, she served at the modern dance accompanist for the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute and the choral accompanist for the Fall Adult Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain.
As an active Rotarian, Ms. Sallee has served her morning Rotary Club as pianist since 1997. She has also served as the official accompanist for the Rotary International Assembly in San Diego, CA since 2006.
